VLNL Berlagebrug
Designer Donald DBXL Beekman daily crosses the Berlage bridge spanning the Amstel river in Amsterdam. The Berlagebrug was built as part of the city planning project ‘Plan Zuid’ by H.P.Berlage and opened in May 1932. Its name, carved out of two granite headstones, sparked the design of this font family. The original lettering is attributed to Anton Kurvers in the early 19th century, and can be seen on many Amsterdam buildings and bridges. It’s typical lettering of the Amsterdamse School, the Dutch equivalent of the expressionist art deco architectural style, and mostly known for its extravagant brick work.
VLNL Berlagebrug is a rounded display font that comes in three outline styles matching the building materials used in the bridge. Gietijzer (cast iron) is smooth, Zandsteen (sandstone) has a softly distressed outline, and Graniet (granite) is outspoken rough and crumbled. The capital letters in VLNL Berlagebrug are in the Amsterdamse school style, the lowercases are more straight alternate capitals, giving you more design options.

US Blaak is an interpretation of a Modern-Classic typeface with a beautiful and strong impressions for editorial design. The sharp serif combined with curves gives US Blaak a fabulous, glamorous and bold look and at the same time doesn't sacrify the functionality.
The design is intended for short to medium length texts as well as display use.

Modal Stencil is the counterpart of “Modal”. It also comes with 15 fonts in 5 weights and 3 styles, each font covering around 800 glyphs. You can switch between Stencil and Normal without any changes in spacing or proportion. As a stencil type family, it offers an additional tool to create distinct designs in branding, editorial or web.

Modal is a sans serif type family intended for corporate, editorial and web design. It comes with 15 fonts in 5 weights and 3 styles: normal (upright), italic (right) and back italic (left). Each weight comes with around 800 glyphs and supports a large variety of and features such as ligatures, small caps, figure sets, case sensitive glyphs and so on. With its two italics, Modal offers new possibilities for designers and creates an additional tool for distinct typography.

Somes Slab is a slab serif small caps designed by Ivan Yelizarow in 2019, inspired and named after The Somes Island in Wellington, New Zealand.
One of its distinctive features is a combination of fine wavy curves with slab serifs that makes it ideal for headlines, subheads, name on business cards, spotlighting a short few-paragraph text that needs detachment, also perfectly having a room for art projects.

To access the variety of OpenType features you can use applications such as Adobe Photoshop Cs / Adobe Photoshop CC, Adobe Illustrator CS / Adobe Illustrator CC, Adobe Indesign and Corel Draw.

If you do not have a program that supports OpenType, you can access all the alternate glyphs using Font Book (Mac) or Character Map (Windows)

As most successful German private press, «Bremer Presse» has strongly influenced German book art. It was founded 1911 in Bremen to print and produce books in perfection. The role model of the press’ typeface was the english Doves Press. Willy Wiegand drew three versions of the «Bremer Presse» antiqua font, starting with the regular weight in 16 pt and adding later the regular weights in 11 and 12 pt. The revival of this beautiful font is based on the 12 pt weight. During the design process, the focus was laid on finding the elegance and strength of original prints. As it was designed to print books, the typeface is optimally used for texts. And with the revival’s new weights «medium» and «bold» and OpenType features like ligatures or old style figures, you can design sophisticatedly typographical compositions.
